Mr Matt Cripps – Principal
Matt Cripps has worked in education for the last twenty years, having an Education and Music Degree from the University of Cambridge, and later gaining the National Professional Qualification for Headship. Starting out as a Primary School teacher in state schools in Hampshire, Matt has since taught across the Primary and Secondary age ranges and been involved in school leadership for a number of years.
In recent years he has been privileged to be able to serve overseas with a mission organisation, leading a school in West Africa, then serving as Principal at an international Christian school in Tanzania.
Matt is married to Mandy and they have six children. They enjoy getting outside, playing games and spending time with others. He is excited about Christian Education and counts it a great honour to be able to lead The King’s School.
Mr Keith Elmitt – Co-Chair of Governors
Keith Elmitt is sharing the role of Chair of Governors with Mr Russell Beese. One way or another, he has been involved in education all of his working life. He was a teacher for over 30 years, with over 20 of those years spent at The King’s School from its inception until 2006.
For most of his time at The Kings School time he was responsible for the senior part of the school, spending the closing ten years as Head of Senior School and finally as Principal for the whole school. Since then, while on the pastoral staff of the Oxford Community Church till 2016, he served as chair at governors at two primary schools in Oxford, the second of those being Tyndale Community School that he was privileged to be instrumental in setting up alongside Steve Jones, pastor of Oxford Community Church.
He has two daughters who are both graduates of the school. They are both married and so Keith now enjoy having seven grandchildren, four of whom have recently been at The King’s School. Life since retirement has enabled him to become a loyal Oxford United supporter!
Mr Russ Beese – Co-Chair of Governors
Russ is a former teacher and headteacher with 15 years experience in the education sector working alongside faith and state schools. He is currently the Lead Pastor of Witney Community Church and one of the regional safeguarding leads for the wider Oxford Community Churches Charity. His wife Rebecca is a worship leader and music teacher, who is involved in teaching primary and secondary aged children in the school. They have 3 children who all attend The King’s School. They love living in and exploring the beautiful Cotswolds.
