The core subjects taken at GCSE level in Y10 and Y11 are Maths, English, English Literature, Sciences (Combined Science double award or three Separate Sciences) and Religious Studies. Students then take another three subjects from the following:
- Art, Computer Science, Drama, French, Geography, German, History, Music, Physical Education
We have offered other subject combinations in the past where there is sufficient interest and where a suitable teacher can be found. Where there is insufficient interest to run a subject or staffing or timetabling clashes arise, we will do all we can to support pupils to pursue their preferred subject choices through alternative means. Recent imaginative solutions have included partnering with another local school for GCSE Music, supported self-study of a History GCSE and French lessons being undertaken after school where preferred option choices couldn’t be fully accommodated in the standard timetable.
Where additional help and tuition is required in a particular area, we can put you in touch with private tutors familiar with the curriculum and the school ethos.
Our students consistently achieve excellent results at GCSE
Examination fees are payable in addition to school fees. The amount charged will depend on what subjects your child is studying and to what level.
