The King's School

School life

Throughout the school, great emphasis is placed on the Bible as the Word of God. Each week spiritual principles are taught through stories and theme teaching and time is given to worshipping and praying together. As pupils get older, we encourage them to think through the implications of their faith and to see how it affects the world around them. We never force our faith on students, however many see the connection of home, Church and school, and choose to accept Christ for themselves.

Everyone at The King’s School is fully committed to:

  • Nurturing and supporting spiritual, physical and emotional health and wellbeing

  • Providing a safe learning environment where children are secure in the relationships around them (adult and peer) to enable them to discover their strengths, explore personal potential and make the most of their time at the school

  • Providing excellent teaching throughout a well-rounded curriculum that places God at the centre

  • Promoting character traits that foster self-confidence, enthusiasm, perseverance, tolerance, integrity and self-control

  • Developing good learning habits and independent study skills in order to make the most of their talents and fulfil academic potential

  • Praying for the school community

The school’s most recent inspection report commented:

The curriculum is broad and given coherence by the Christian worldview, shared by the teachers, that pervades all subjects… ”

What our students say:

“King's school taught me so much about my faith and each teacher encouraged our curiosity and a deeper understanding of topics in discussions or other fun ways! I will miss King's very much and will always appreciate my time there!” Year 11 leaver
