Admissions

  1. Enquire About Enrolment
Contact us using the form on this page to express your interest. Our Registrar will guide you through each stage, find out more about your children, schedule a visit, and address any enquiries regarding school life.
  1. Visit Our School
To gain deeper insights into what our school can offer your children, we highly recommend attending one of our Open Mornings or mid-week tours. Our upcoming open day is scheduled for Tuesday 5th March 2024 at 10.30am. To attend, please email the Registrar with your names, children's names and their dates of birth. For mid-week visits, we usually conduct tours on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Please arrange these in advance by contacting the Registrar using the contact us box/page or emailing registrar@tkswitney.org.uk).
  1. Submit Your Application
To apply to join The King's School, please complete our online application form, available through the Registrar. Also, kindly submit a £75 application fee per applicant for pupils entering from Reception onwards.
  1. Submit Reports and References
As part of the application process, we request your child/ren's most recent school reports. Additionally, we seek permission to contact their previous school and, if applicable, your church for a reference. This enables us to better understand new pupils and evaluate how we can cater to their needs.
  1. Experience a Taster Day/s
All applicants are invited to participate in a taster day or sometimes two days. During this time, they can join their current year group to get to know new friends and teachers. In Early Years the days usually run from 8:50am-11:50am, a regular school day in Primary is 8:45am-3:25pm, and in Secondary the day is 8:45 AM - 3:35 PM.
  1. Application Key Dates
Our application deadline for September enrolment is 15 January each year. We prioritise applications according to the admissions criteria outlined in our application policy on our Policies Page. Decisions will be communicated shortly after the deadline. We will consider mid-year applications and those received after the deadline based on availability and alignment with our admissions criteria.
  1. Engage in an Interview
Families new to our school are invited to an interview with two representatives, typically consisting of the Head of School and an Oxfordshire Community Church Pastor, or a School Governor. This interview provides an opportunity to address any final questions and ensure everyone is happy with the applicant/s joining our school.
  1. Receive the Decision
Following the interview, the Registrar will notify parents of the admissions decision via email.
  1. Prepare for Enrolment
Before the start date, parents must complete an online pupil joining form, including our Partnership Agreement, to confirm acceptance of our terms and conditions. We also ask you to provide a printed and signed direct debit form, pay one month's fees in advance as a deposit (refundable after one year), and submit original identification for the pupil/s (valid passport/birth certificate).
